All the Flowers in Shanghai - Duncan Jepson
I had read a number of Amy Tan's novels years ago, and I suppose that's what attracted me to this story. It is a first-person narrative - a mother revealing her story to her child years after the fact. It is quite vivid in description and an interesting story, and though you should sympathize for the protagonist given her situation, she does come off as unlikable at times. A decent story overall.
